The story
Sophie Smith read history at the University of Cambridge and holds an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology. She spent four years as a technology consultant at Accenture and founded several ventures, among them myZindagi, a platform for finding doctors in Pakistan, as well as Synnapps and SNS Consulting. She also co-founded 22Four. In March 2017 she founded Nabta Health, which is headquartered in Sharjah. Nabta describes its model as hybrid, combining fertility tracking, at-home testing, virtual consultations and a machine-learning personal assistant to help women identify, manage and prevent non-communicable diseases. Its first care pathway focused on PCOS, with the stated aim of making a diagnosis possible in under 90 days. In June 2020 the company reported that it served 250,000 women a month and had reached 18 million women through health-awareness campaigns since January 2018.
