Why it matters

Chari lets Morocco's neighbourhood shops order the goods they resell for next-day delivery and turns them into points of sale for financial services such as phone top-ups, bill payments and money transfers. In October 2025 it became the first venture-backed Moroccan startup to receive a payment institution licence from Bank Al-Maghrib, alongside a $12 million Series A, the largest in Morocco. It says it connects more than 25,000 merchants.
