The story

Ebrahim Al-Jassim co-founded HungerStation in 2012 with Hossein Bukhamseen, starting in Dammam, and it became Saudi Arabia's first online food ordering platform. Foodpanda, later part of Delivery Hero, took a majority stake in 2016. In April 2019 he and the whole executive team were terminated, and he took the dispute to arbitration, alleging among other things that confidential information had been shared with competitors. The four-year dispute ended in July 2023 when Delivery Hero bought the remaining 37% stake for $297 million. In 2022 he co-founded Ninja with Saud Al Qahtani and Canberk Donmez; it reached a $1.5 billion valuation in 2025 and in 2026 explored a bid for HungerStation.
