The story

Hanzade Doğan Boyner is the daughter of Turkish businessman Aydın Doğan. After a BSc in Economics at the London School of Economics and an MBA at Columbia, she joined the family group and, according to the short, pushed its newspapers to move online against resistance from senior executives. In 2000 she bought a small online computer seller and renamed it Hepsiburada, Turkish for 'everything is here'. She also chaired Doğan Yayın Holding from 2003 to 2007 and later founded Nesine. Hepsiburada opened to third-party merchants in 2015 and grew into one of Turkey's leading e-commerce platforms. Amazon explored buying it around 2018 but walked away and entered Turkey itself. In July 2021 Hepsiburada became the first Turkish company to list on Nasdaq, valued at $3.9 billion; she called it 'a national pride story'. In October 2024 Kaspi.kz agreed to buy her family's controlling 65.41% stake for about $1.13 billion, and from February 2025 she has chaired Doğan Holding.
