Three students tried to build an e-commerce company in Egypt.
Instead, they ran into a bigger problem: the country’s online payment infrastructure wasn’t ready for the business they wanted to build.
So they built the missing system themselves.
What followed was years of licensing, bank integrations and rejection before Paymob finally started scaling.
Today, it serves more than 390,000 merchants across Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman, with almost half its revenue now coming from the GCC.
