Why it matters
SALT started as a food truck on Dubai's Kite Beach and is often cited as the first of its kind in the city, building a following through its #FindSalt social media campaign. Its founders built the Independent Food Company around it, developing original brands such as Parker's, Somewhere and Public, and in December 2024 Somewhere became the first Arab-founded restaurant to open at Harrods.
