In their own words
“We design 100 per cent made in Algeria products and services that serve local needs with one goal: improve people's lives, by getting the services that matter more easily and even innovative services that do not exist elsewhere.”
The story
Kamel Haddar, born in 1981, holds a master's in computer science from ESIEE-IT and a specialised master's in marketing from ESCP Business School. He worked at 3M as a project manager and business analyst, then as a consultant at BearingPoint covering telecommunications, energy and utilities. In 2018 he launched temtem as a mobility app, and in 2019 the company raised a $4 million Series A. It later broadened into temtem One, a single app bringing together services including ride-hailing, e-commerce, home healthcare and payments, with an offer for diaspora users. In October 2020 Disrupt Africa reported that temtem One had more than 200,000 customers and 10,000 partners. Haddar also co-founded ATLAS, an association that supports Algerian students, and founded CasbahTech, a startup studio focused on digital solutions in Algeria.
