In their own words
“This investment from +VC is a major milestone for EMMA Systems.”
The story
Wisam Costandi studied biomedical engineering at Northwestern University and the University of California, Davis, where he also earned an MBA in technology management and finance, and attended Singularity University's executive programme. By his account he spent ten years in the San Francisco Bay Area's high-tech sector and in management consulting before moving to Qatar. His roles included director of technical support at Global Datalink, senior consultant at Deloitte Consulting and engagement manager at Reality Digital, and he co-founded monqi. In 2008 he founded IQ (Informatica Qatar), a technology solutions and systems integration company whose work includes large-scale airport projects, and he still runs it as managing director. He is co-founder and CEO of EMMA Systems, whose Total Airport Management platform helps airport operators visualise sensor information and monitor airport systems. In October 2025 Wamda reported that EMMA had secured seed funding from Plus VC, with angel investors taking part, and that its platform had been deployed with international airports and airlines in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
